John Aslanidis collaboration with Berlin based British musician Brian May is now on exhibition in New York City at White Box. Sonic Network no. 9 will be on display in the gallery, 329 Broome Street (NY 10002) until 29 April 2012.

Curated by New York–based artists Ron Janowich and Daniel Hill Emergence & Structure is an exhibition of artists whose work embodies complexity and variety in the natural world.
Common amongst the artists in the exhibition are their respective scientifically inspired concepts and methods of production based upon observations and study of naturally occurring phenomena.
“By viewing the universe through the eyes of scientifically inspired artists, our perceptions will be challenged, and a world normally hidden, just out of sight, can be revealed.”
This interdisciplinary exchange of artists working across the vast range of contemporary art practice delivers commentary on scientific though and reflects upon art’s role in the evolution of science.

The show will comprise John’s new Sonic Network No. 9 made during his recent New York residency and Brian’s sound piece will be a response to the painting. On view 7 October – 6 November 2011.
